Summary
A treatment of current algebra is proposed in which the fundamental identities are directly expressed as statements on the location and residues of fixed poles in the complexJ-plane. The use of a representation of the scattering amplitude due to Khuri (which has a simple general relation with the original Regge representation) will give the most natural way of writing our identities. This new approach allows us to give a meaning to commutators whose corresponding sum rules had to be discarded because of the divergence of the dispersion integrals.
