The contribution of one-baryon exchange to the reaction ps+B→V+B

Summary

The reactions in which a pseudoscalar meson interacts with a baryon to yield a vector meson and another baryon are studied in terms of peripheral model. Baryon exchange as well as meson exchange are considered. Comparison with experimental result on π⁺+p→Σ⁺+K* at 2.77 GeV/c is made and it is found that in order to fit the angular distribution of the K* and to obtain cross-sections compatible with experiments, form factors of the exponential type have to be used.

Si studiano in termini di un modello periferico le reazioni in cui un mesone pseudoscalare reagisce con un barione per produrre un mesone vettoriale ed un altro barione. Si considera sia lo scambio di un barione sia lo scambio di un mesone. Si fa il confronto col risultato sperimentale nella reazione π⁺+p→Σ⁺+K* a 2.77 GeV/c e si trova che per adattare la distribuzione angolare del K* ed ottenere sezioni d’urto compatibili coll’esperimento si debbono prendere fattori di forma di tipo esponenziale.
