ππ Interaction in final state processes

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento (1955-1965)

Summary

A method is proposed to take proper care of final state interactions in processes producing two pions. This method is applied to the analysis of theT=0 pion-pion interaction in the reaction p+d→3He+2π. It is shown that the anomaly observed byAbashian, Booth andCrowe can be explained assuming a ππ scattering length of the order of two pion Compton wave lengths.
