Ourσ R values are appreciably smaller than those reported byZucker et al. (cf.Phys. Rev. C,4, 1114 (1971)) using a beam attenuation technique. Similar differences between the results obtained by this method and the present one of adding the contributions of the individual reactions are all too common in the literature, and until satisfactorily explained will limit the accuracy of testing the predictions of absolute cross-section calculations.
