Summary

The γ-radiation following the inelastic scattering of neutrons from164Dy was studied for incident neutron energies from 580 keV to 2200 keV. From the analysis of the measured γ-ray spectra a detailed decay scheme of the nucleus was constructed, in which 30 energy levels and 44 γ-decays up to 2053 keV were determined. Level spins and parities were deduced comparing the experimental γ-ray excitation functions with the theoretical predictions based on the statistical model of the compound nucleus.
