Coupled transverse motion in charged-beam transport dynamics and generalized twiss coefficients

Summary

In this paper we discuss a generalized Courant-Snyder theory forn-dimensional quadratic Hamiltonians. We stress the usefulness of the obtained results both for transverse-mode coupling in accelerators and in quantum mechanics, for the generation of squeezed states.
