Summaries

Surface properties of silicone-containing hybrid systems with urethanes or polytetrafluoroethylene were investigated by ESCA/XPS, AFM and wettability tests. The effect of a silicone content on wettability was determined by dynamic contact angle measurements and surface free energy calculations. Surface elemental composition was discussed in relation to the silicone content and type of non-silicone component, and surface layer formation mechanisms were considered.
