Abstract
Solubility curves,x o vs x M , representing the saturation of an alloy with a particular oxide phase, MmOn, may include both minimum and maximum points. In this brief communication, it is shown that such points may be predicted using simple empirical descriptions of solute interactions in alloys. A minimum-maximum solubility curve for iron saturated with AI2O3 is discussed.
