Abstract

The kinetics and mechanism of σ-phase dissolution in austenitic AISI 310 steel were investigated. The temperature range of σ-phase dissolution was determined. It was established that in isothermal conditions the dissolution of this phase obeys the Johnson-Mehl law. An attempt was made to determine the mechanism of the dissolution process.
