Abstract
The possibility of measuring liquid diffusion coefficients in metals using temperature gradient zone melting has been investigated. A technique has been developed for in-troducing intrinsic droplets. When corrections to the simple theory have been made the value of the liquid diffusion coefficient agrees well with previous work.
