Summary
In rabbits and pigs small pieces of splenic tissue were replanted after performing a splenectomy. Four to eight months later the regenerated grafts were tested for their capacity to store 51 Cr labeled heat denaturated erythrocytes or 197 Hg-BMHP. The storing capacity proved to be considerable. In a splenectomized and replanted pig one of the regenerated spleniculi could be displayed also by the gamma-camera. In some cases the storing capacity per weight of the organ in regenerated spleniculi was comparable to the storing capacity of the normal spleen.
