Abstract

A dacitic lava flow with a volume of about 24 km3 is described. This flow is the largest of three of this type which were erupted in the youngest phase of volcanism in one part of the Andes of northern Chile. The majority of volcanoes erupted during this phase are more andesitic in composition and are made up of small flows and pyroclastic materials.
