Adenoacanthoma arising in a diverticulum of the colon: Report of a case

Summary

An adenocanthoma arising in a diverticulum of the sigmoid colon is described. It is the first reported case of such a complication. The tumor appeared in an 84-year-old man who had diverticular disease of the colon. Although malignant transformation of the diverticular mucosa is exceptional, such a change is physiologically feasible?
