Operationsprinzip

Ersatz des arthrotisch veränderten Sattelgelenkes durch ein künstliches Kugelgelenk, das in das Os trapezium und das Os metacarpale I einzementiert wird (Abb. 1).

Der Stiel der Endoprothese ist proximal als Kugel ausgeformt und schnappt luxationssicher in eine Polyäthylenpfanne ein. Die Endoprothese wurde 1971 von de la Caffinière entwickelt und erstmals 1974 beschrieben.
