Abstract
A massive and rapidly progressing hemomediastinum which resulted from blunt chest trauma was controlled by internal mammary artery embolization during angiographic evaluation for suspected injury of the thoracic aorta. Embolization of the internal mammary artery can be performed safely and thoracotomy avoided if stable catheter position is attained.
