Zusammenfassung
Die Salicylate gehören zu den ältesten chemisch definierten Analgetika (Einführung der Salicylsäure 1875, der Acetylsalicylsäure 1899) und sind auch heute noch die am häufigsten verwendeten Schmerz- und Fiebermittel. Zur Gruppe der Salicylate werden—neben Acetylsalicylsäure und Salicylsäure—Salicylamid, Benorilat, Diflunisal, Salicylsalicylat und Gentisinsäure gerechnet. Da in der praktischen Anwendung der Acetylsalicylsäure und ihrem Hauptmetaboliten,—der Salicylsäure—die größte Bedeutung zukommen, werden zunächst die Eigenschaften dieser beiden Substanzen und anschließend die der anderen Salicylate vergleichend dargestellt.
