Summary
A sample container assembly was fabricated for viscosity measurements of settling suspensions. Effect of zeta potential on the apparent viscosity of glass particles suspended in water was studied. The maximum concentration was 44% by weight. Zeta potential was varied using AlCl3 and NaOH in the range of −80 to +40 mV. There was a definite effect of the surface charge, the variation in the apparent viscosity for the maximum concentration of glass particles was from 2.02 to 4.20 cp.
