Abstract
In this paper, we present the comparative study of the karyotypes ofCebus apella (Platyrrhini, Cebidae) from two different regions of South America: Paraguay and Argentina. Forty-two adult animals were analyzed and we observed similar karyotypes in bothCebus apella. Likewise, we found different chromosome aberrations: inv(4), inv(7), inv(2), and t(3; 4) in specimens from Paraguay and Argentina. These findings support the intraspecific variability of these New World monkeys.
