Summary

Single-sprouted seed pieces were used to create two potato stands in the field. The density of the stands was varied by altering the plant spacing from 10 to 20 cm. At 10 days after emergence a series of samplings was started in order to follow the development. The results show that the effects of competition within the stand are apparent very early and for some properties as early as at the first sampling.
