Abstract
This paper presents experimental measurements of the velocity profiles in an expanding fluid jet. The data were obtained from analysis of birefringence measurements over the flow field. A new method of photoviscous analysis to determine the pertinent flow information from isochromate data alone was developed as part of the investigation.
A numerical method for obtaining the flow data from the optical measurements is presented.
