Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds Aims and scope

Abstract

Hydromethylamination of 1,3-diaryl-3-(2-oxocyclohexyl)propan-1-ones produces N-methyl-2,4-diaryldecahydroquinolines with cis-fused hetero- and carbocycles that are stabilized in the A conformation. The reaction involves Δ2,3,9,10 intermediates and their subsequent reduction.
