Abstract
The structure of a new cycloartane glycoside, cyclocanthoside F, has been established on the basis of spectral characteristics as 20R,25-epoxy-24S-cycloartane-3β,6α,16β,24-tetraol 3-O-[O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→2)-β-D-xylopyranoside] 6-O-β-D-glucopyranoside. The possibility in principle of using the β-effects of glycosylation and13C NMR spectroscopy for determining a glycosyl substituent at C-6 of a cycloartane has been demonstrated.
