Abstract

The results of numerically solving the linear problem of the rocking of a submerged body in an inviscid incompressible fluid bounded either by a rigid top or by a free surface are presented. In each case the equivalence relations connecting the solutions of the radiation and diffraction problems are derived. The apparent mass and damping coefficients are calculated and a comparison with an approximate solution is given.
