The prevalence of osteoarthrosis of the sacroiliac joints in an urban population

Summary

Little attention has been paid to the sacroiliac joints especially with respect to the occurrence of degenerative changes. Two hundred thirty nine of the 1200 persons with rheumatic complaints were examined. In 186 of them osteoarthrosis of the sacroiliac joints was found (78%). Among test subjects 51,6% suffered from the low back pain.
