Abstract
The optics of spatially dispersive media is developed starting from a macroscopic material equation in differential form. The energy theorem is reformulated exhibiting the energy density, energy flux and the absorption density of polaritons. The 6 boundary conditions needed at an interface between to spatially dispersive media are derived.
