Conversion of cyclohexene on a gold-plated palladium-nickel membrane catalyst

Abstract

Under flow conditions, on the gold-covered external surface of a tube made of Pd containing 5.9% Ni cyclohexene is dehydrogenated into benzene and the hydrogen formed does not desorb but is consumed in cyclohexene hydrogenation to cyclohexane and diffuses through the membrane catalyst. In the presence of added hydrogen, cyclohexene hydrogenation takes place below 200°C. Upon the introduction of hydrogen through the membrane catalyst the hydrogenation rate strongly increases relative to the case when hydrogen is fed in mixture with cyclohexene vapors.

Abstract

В проточно-циркуляционных условиях установлено, что циклогексен дегидрируется в бензол на золоченой поверхности трубки из сплава Pd−Ni (5,9%), образующийся водород не десорбируется, а расходуется на гидрогенизацию циклогексена в циклогексан и диффундирует через мембранный катализатор. При добавлении водорода циклогексен гидрируется при температурах ниже 200 °C, скорость гидрогенизации гораздо выше при подаче водорода диффузией через мембранный катализатор, чем при его поступлении в смеси с парами циклогексена.
