Zusammenfassung
-
1.
Summary
-
1.
Guinea pigs with experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE) presented simultaneously histological changes, clinical symptoms and a rise of the brain and of the spinal cord asparaginase activity.
-
2.
The asparaginase activity of lymph glands rose (from the 14th day after application of the antigen or control suspension) in both experimental and control animals.
-
3.
Spleen asparaginase activity did not change during the development of EAE.
-
4.
Only a low level of the asparaginase activity was found in the cells washed out from spleen and lymph glands.
-
5.
Leucocytes did not contain asparaginase activity in any phase of the disease.
-
6.
The increase of the asparaginase activity in the nervous tissue cannot be regarded to depend on the unspecific rise of asparaginase activity in the lymph glands.
