Conclusion

In this conducted tour through some of the multiple facets of histamine research, I wanted to emphasize that the ‘decarboxylated son of histidine’ (Dragstedt) is not resting. I feel confident that histamine is preparing many more interesting surprises for the continuing benefit of members of the European Histamine Research Society.
