Summary

Isolated guinea-pig ileum was treated with various agonist concentrations, resulting in partial or complete receptor blockade. This situation is similar to that observed for treatment with irreversible inhibitors. Dissociation constants may be obtained according to the theory ofFurchgott if eledoisin- or substance P-sequences are added to the contributions of affinity and intrinsic activity can be dissociated.
