  4. Es heisst in The British medical Journal 3 January 1880 wörtlich: Congenital Atelectasis, Emphysema and a cyst of the lung. Dr. Barlow showed the lungs of a child three month old, who had suffered from slight cough, but without dyspnoea. The hearts a pex lay to the right of the sterum, but there was no pleuritic effusion. A diagnosis of the coerxistence of atelectasis and emphysema was made, with proved to be correct. In the interior of the upper lobe of the left lung was a cyst, of the size of a spanish chestnut, containing air. No opening could be found in it; the lining was smooth, and when held up to the light, the wall was seen to be composed of collapsed air-vesicles.
