El estudio ultraestructural de las neuronas del núcleo supraóptico de la rata demuestra amplias zonas de aposición de los somas neuronales y botones sinapticos que son compartidos por dos somas. Los autores postulan que estas estructuras morfológicas pueden ser mecanismos de coordinación y sincronización interneuronal.
