Le chlorure de cadmium produit chez le rat, une nécrose hémorragique sélective du ganglion de Gasser et des ganglions sensitifs spinaux. Dans ces organes, on observe une pycnose des noyaux et une lyse du cytoplasme des cellules nerveuses qui sont entourées d'effusions hémorragiques.
