Summary
Green and brown pigments of the NeuropteraChrysopa carnea are identified as biliverdin IXα (I) and xanthommatin (V). The autumnal colour change ofChrysopa is caused by the increase of ommochrome and the simultaneous decrease of bile pigment level.
