Ätiologie und therapeutische Beeinflußbarkeit der spezifischen toxischen Wirkungen des Methylalkohols

Zusammenfassung

  1. 1.

    Im Liquor und Glaskörper sowie in der Bauchhöhlenflüssigkeit von Kaninchen, die mit Methylalkohol vergiftet waren, wurde Formaldehyd gefunden.

  2. 2.

    Vom Glaskörper frisch getöteter Kälber wird Methylalkohol zu Formaldehyd oxydiert; bei Zusatz von Ammoniumkarbonat bildet sich aus dem entstandenen Formaldehyd Hexamethylentetramin.

  3. 3.

    Verabreichung von Ammoniumkarbonat scheint geeignet, der Entstehung der für Methylalkoholvergiftung charakteristischen Organschädigungen entgegenzuwirken.
