Summary

It has to be stressed that in case of mass casualties the care for the patients is not depending on transport only, but also on a sufficient number of trained doctors and nurses. The problem of transportation in this country is mainly dealt by theLander, but the treatment of the patients is a problem which can only be solved by steps which have to be taken by the medical profession. The present deficiency of burn units in this country reflects a very grave situation, not only for the present situation, but also in view of mass casualties.

Zusammenfassung

Voraussetzung für eine annähernd adäquate Versorgung beim Massenanfall von Brandverletzten im zivilen Bereich ist neben der Bildung eines Krisenstabes die Bereitstellung einer ausreichenden Anzahl ausgebildeter Schwestern und Ärzte. Während für organisatorische Maßnahmen, wie z. B. Bereitstellung von Transportmitteln, die Länder zuständig sind, muß das Problem der medizinischen Versorgung von der Ärzteschaft gelöst werden. Der heute immer noch erhebliche Mangel an Spezialbetten für Brandverletzte muß auch im Interesse der Versorgung der Bevölkerung im Katastrophenfall behoben werden.
