Über ein weiteres hirntumorcharakteristisches Gangliosid

Zusammenfassung

Bei verschiedenen Hirntumoren wurde mit Hilfe zweidimensionaler Dünnschichtchromatographie ein Gangliosid vermehrt gefunden, das in normalem Hirn nur in Spuren vorkommt. Es ist chemisch eng verwandt mit einem schon früher aus Meningiomen isolierten Gangliosid, von dem es sich nur dadurch unterscheidet, daß es ein Molekül N-Acetylneuraminsäure zusätzlich enthält. Experimente, die zur Annahme dieser Konstitution führten werden beschrieben.

Summary

Two-dimensional thin-layer chromatography showed a ganglioside to be present in different brain-tumors in considerable ammounts, which in normal brain will be found only in traces. Chemically ist is closely related to a previously described Ganglioside isolated from Meningiomas. From this it differs only by an additional molecule of N-acetyl-neuraminic-acid. Experiments suggesting the constitution mentioned above are described.
