Abstract
Genetic methods for detection and analysis of translocations are described and illustrated with the case of a translocation involving linkage groups I and VII. Methods are outlined for ascertaining standard chromosome complements in stock strains ofA. nidulans, which show high frequency of translocations, and the general importance of chromosomal rearrangements in micro-organisms is emphasized.
