  1. Pilz (Prager Vierteljahrsschrift, Bd. XXIV, S. 120, Ueber Hypertrophie und Atrophie der Sclera) giebt eine entzündliche Hypertrophie zu, meint aber, dass dieselbe stets eine „unächte“ sei. Er sagt: „Die Entzündung setzt in der Sclerotica durch Anbildung von Zellgewebe, fibroidem Gewebe stets unächte Hypertrophien.“ Es dürfte, wie gesagt, schwer sein, solches fibroides Gewebe von scleralem in allen Fällen zu unterscheiden.
