Neurosurgical Review Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

The problem of the classification of the tumours of the pineal parenchyma or its germ cells is discussed under special consideration of the possibility of distinguishing two categories of the “two cell type” (anisomorphous) tumor: the germinoma and the pineocytoma (the “pinealoma” in the classical concept). The formerly so-called pinealomas and ectopic pinealomas are discussed.
