-
a)
Summary
As regards the recent conceptions at hand on the kinetics of cell renewing systems an attempt has been made to transfer step by step the ideas of cell system physiology into a flow diagram, that is to say to set up a simulation model of control mechanism in form of a closed-loop control circuit which describes the dynamic system of the production of red cells.
The advantage of such a method consists in a detailed description of each control model element by characteristic transient response functions, characterising the time behaviour by amplification factors V, time constants T, and latent periods Tt' and the possibility of simulating this erythropoiesis closed-loop control circuit by means of a digital computer to get data and statements on its stability.
Moreover, further special experimental tests will be made possible as each parameter can easily be varied.
