Collective fields and flow equations

  • Published:
Zeitschrift für Physik C Particles and Fields

Abstract

We supplement the flow equations or exact renormalization group equations in continuum field theory with the introduction of collective fields, which offer a convenient description of bound states and vacuum condensates. In addition the flow equations are improved by use of scale-dependent field redefinitions such that they involve the exact propagator at every scale.
