Summary

The maximum melting temperatures of the last detectable extended-sequence-mixing crystals of copolymers of ethylene mixed with low molecular weighted solvents have been measured for various solvents covering the total concentration range. A quantitative thermodynamic description can be established whereby the first virial coefficient must be adjusted only.

It can be shown that for liquid-liquid phase-separation “macroscopic” unmixing of the total chains of the pseudo-eutectic copolymer, for crystallization micro-phase separation occur only.
