Eigenoscillations of double spirals of discret mass points

Abstract

We discuss the dynamics of infinitely long double spirals of discret mass points. We use harmonic lattice theory. The secular equation of degree 3 is derived and the eigenfrequencies and eigenvibrations are calculated. The appendix contains a useful method to separate the optical from the acoustical modes to get the elastical limit.
