Abstract
The cross section and Mott asymmetry function of elastic electron scattering by mercury atoms have been calculated for energies of 46, 79, 100, and 204 keV and the angular range 45‡–180‡. Some progress in the computational method is reported which remedies the difficulties at backward angles.
