Zur Chronologie des alten Ägypten

Abstract

A set of careful radiocarbon measurements of historically dated samples from ancient Egypt (approx. 2500–3300 B.C.) show excellent agreement with the historically expected age if the conventionial C-14 dates are corrected for variations in the atmospheric C-14 level over the past millenia. These variations have been established by calibration measurements on dendrochronologically dated bristlecone wood (pinus aristata), and are in the range of several percent, corresponding to age deviations of several hundred years.
