Abstract
The model of variable-range hopping between microscopic localization centers in disordered semiconductors including Coulomb correlations is transferred to the mesoscopic situation of electron tunneling between small metal particles in granular materials. As a result we obtain for the temperature dependence of the dc conductivity well known formulas (Abeles, Mott) with certain limitations of their applicability. There is good agreement with existing experiments.
