Abstract
The crystal and electronic structure of solidC 76 has been studied using transmission electron microscopy and electron energy-loss spectroscopy in transmission. C76 forms a close packed structure with an average facecentred cubic symmetry. From valence band and core electron excitations information on the dielectric function and the unoccupied density of states has been obtained.
