Summary

Foreign bodies of the upper GIT are regulary extracted with endoscopes, provided, that they have neither left the pylorus, changed their form, nor perforated the wall. Endoscopic extraction is recommended when safe and spontaneous discharge is uncertain. Impacted rectal foreign bodies usually need proctologic or abdominal surgery. Intraoperative endoscopy should be limited to those organs that are not attainable by preoperative inspection like cholangioscopy and peroral jejunoileoscopy.

Verschluckte Fremdkörper werden endoskopisch extrahiert, sofern sie den Magen nicht verlaBen, ihre Form nicht verändert und die Wand nicht perforiert haben und ihre SpontanpaBage fraglich oder gefährlich erscheint. Transanal eingeführte Fremdkörper erfordern vorwiegend proktologische oder abdominale Operationen, wenn ihr Spontanabgang nicht erfolgt. Intraoperative Endoskopie ist Endoskopie bei eröffneter Körperhöhle, sie sollte durch präoperative Endoskopie ersetzt und auf präoperativ nicht erreichbare Organsysteme beschränkt werden.
