Variation in DNA complexity inNicotiana glauca tissue cultures. I. pith tissue dedifferentiation “in vitro

  • Published:
Protoplasma Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

Amplification of G + C-rich and A + T-rich fractions occurs in DNA fromNicotiana glauca pith explants in the first hours of theirin vitro culture. This amplification has been evidenced by derivative melting profiles and by analysis of fractions from Ag+-Cs2SO4 density gradients.

Some properties of these DNA sequences are described. The results are discussed in view of the possible relevance of differential DNA replication during dedifferentiation processes.
