Summary

The elemental composition of adsorption layers on stainless steel sheets produced by cleaning with diluted nitric acid is determined using surface analytical methods. The composition of the adsorption layers is modified by addition of phosphoric acid. Increasing amounts of phosphoric acid in the cleaning agent reduce the nitrogen concentration in the adsorption layers. In parallel an improvement of the corrosion protection is achieved. This is determined by measuring the material loss of the steel sheets in corrosion tests.

Zusammenfassung

Die elementare Zusammensetzung von Adsorptionsschichten auf Edelstahlblechen, die bei der Reinigung mit verdünnter Salpetersäure gebildet werden, wird durch oberflächenanalytische Methoden ermittelt. Die Schichtzusammensetzung kann durch Zusatz von Phosphorsäure verändert werden. Mit steigender Phosphorsäurekonzentration im Reiniger verringert sich die Stickstoffkonzentration in den Adsorptionsschichten. Parallel dazu wird eine Verbesserung des Korrosionsschutzes erzielt, was aus der Bestimmung des Materialabtrags der Edelstahlbleche bei Korrosionsversuchen folgt.
